Santa Claus Parade
November 25, 2022 was a magical night in downtown Markdale. With an awesome turnout of 42 floats, the parade started at 6:00 pm lighting up Main Street with Christmas lights and big smiles from all. A very special appearance by Santa closed out the parade at 7:00 pm as he came through town on a sleigh float. The Markdale Baptist Church led the caroling as people made their way over to the Tree Lighting Ceremony presented, by the Grey Highlands Chamber of Commerce President, Karen Cox, and Grey Highlands Mayor, Paul McQueen. Alex Ruff, MP and Rick Byers, MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound were also in attendance and offered greetings and merry holiday wishes to all. Moonlight Madness, the Flesherton District Farmer’s Market & the Christmas Vendors Market continued into the evening as shoppers and Santa milled about town.
If you could not make it to the parade or would like to watch it again, the cultural channel was onsite for the parade. Make sure you monitor their cable channel (Eastlink 251) and YouTube page for highlights over the coming weeks.
